December 2021 – Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez, president of Banesco Internacional attended a meeting with President Luis Abinader at the National Palace, where they discussed Banesco´s operations throughout the region.  

Santo Domingo. The president of Banesco Internacional, Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez, met on  Friday with president Luis Abidnader, ratifying his commitment to the country. . During the encounter they discussed Banesco´s most important achievement, recent financial agreements , products, services, branches, as well as  the digital transformation process that the bank is currently undergoing.

Escotet Rodríguez, who is visiting the country to participate in various events related to Banesco Banco Múltiple 10th year anniversary;took the opportunity to address some current national issues such as the National Vaccination Plan and the country’s economic recovery process, one of the best in the regions thanks to the policies of the current administration..  Escotet Rodíguez also, expressed his gratitude for the support given to  the banking sector during the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and highlighted the growth of Dominican industry, which assets by the end of Q2 of 2021  represent 54.9% of the country’s GDP, for a nominal interannual growth of 17.2%

During the meeting, Escotet Rodriguez  took the opportunity to explain to President Abinader that Banesco Internacional is a brand specialized in financial services with a history of more than 34 years in the banking, insurance and payment methods business and that it has four financial groups: Banesco USA, Banesco Panama, Banesco Venezuela and, of course, Banesco Banco Múltiple, Dominican Republic.

Nowadays, despite the challenges that the pandemic brought us, we continue to develop a continuous expansion plan with the vision of offering financial solutions with the local potential and global reach that our clients need ”said Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez.

Regarding its local operations, which also include Banesco Seguros, the president of Banesco Internacional pointed out that “we are very proud of what we have achieved, because in this 10-year journey, we have managed to position ourselves in one of the most important young banking institutions  of the country; today we are the seventh multiple bank in terms of assets and we have a network of 13 branches with a presence in the capital city and in the north and east of the country ”.

During this journey in the Dominican Republic, the bank has granted more than 40,000 loans, representing a portfolio that exceeds RD $ 19,000 million and managing a total of assets that exceed RD $ 42,000 million, likewise, public deposits are RD $ 30,000 million, counting with more than 70,000 clients who have placed their trust in this institution.

At the end of the visit, Escotet Rodríguez assured that, as international investors, Banesco will continue to champion  the Dominican Republic and its economic reactivation process through various initiatives such as the bank’s support to the local business sector, with products, services and facilities to boost its growth, as well as a value proposition for personal customers. In addition to this, the executive expressed his confidence in President Abinader and his administration.
